About this track

The AOSR is committed to promote better patient outcomes and ensure the future of radiologists in the face of rapid AI transformation of the radiology landscape.

  • The initial 90 min program/lectures will support all delegates:
    1. To be recognized by patients and peers as a valued member of the care team.
    2. To be more effective leaders.
    Lectures will include topics such as:
    1. Why every radiologist must be a leader (30 min) - Dr. Frank J. Lexa
    2. Negotiations: it's more than just money(30 min) - Dr. Geraldine McGinty
    3. Speaking up and leading change without being seen as a troublemaker(30 min) - Dr. Frank J. Lexa & Dr. Geraldine McGinty
  • Difficult Conversations Workshop (60 min small group, immersive, pre-registration needed)
  • Session Wrap Up (60min)

About the faculty:

Dr. Frank J. Lexa MD, MBA, FACR

Dr. Lexa is a neuroradiologist at the University of Pittsburgh where he is a Professor, the Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs, works for UPMC International and teaches at the Katz business school. He is the chief of the Radiology Leadership Institute of the ACR. He has authored over 160 peer reviewed papers as well as the book “Leadership Lessons for Success in Health Care”. At the top EU MBA program – the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, he won the prestigious “Prize of Excellence” for outstanding teaching twice.


Dr. Geraldine McGinty MD MBA FACR

Dr. McGinty serves as Chair of the Commission on Radiology Education of the International Society of Radiology. Since 2014 she has been on the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) in New York and founding Academic Director of the WCM and Cornell University SJ Johnson School of Business EMBA and Masters in Healthcare Leadership. In 2018 she was elected as the first female Chair of the American College of Radiology's Board. In 2015 she was voted Radiology’s Most Effective Educator by the readers of Aunt Minnie.
